What is the Partnerships Component?
The Partnerships Component of the Educational Portal of the Americas is a strategic space aimed at articulating collaborations with public, private, and civil society actors interested in strengthening education, lifelong learning, and capacity building in the Americas.
Through this component, the Portal promotes synergies that amplify the regional impact of educational initiatives, foster innovation, and facilitate access to solutions, content, platforms, technical assistance, and resources that contribute to the educational and human development goals promoted by the OAS.
The alliances are conceived under a focus on shared value, transparency and sustainability, aligned with the Organization's mandates and regional priorities in areas such as inclusive education, digital transformation, equity, employability and skills development for the future.
What type of alliances are promoted?
The Educational Portal of the Americas promotes, among others, the following modalities of collaboration:
- Strategic alliances for the co-design and implementation of regional educational projects.
- Technical or knowledge alliances, aimed at the exchange of experiences, good practices and content.
- Dissemination alliances, to amplify the reach of initiatives, courses, resources and calls.

Who can apply for an alliance?
Public institutions, international organizations, universities, foundations, companies, civil society organizations, and other actors with relevant experience and capacities in education and human development in the Americas.
What is the first step to establish an alliance?
The first step is to express interest through a brief conceptual proposal to the email portal@oas.org describing:
- The profile of the institution.
- The goal of the collaboration.
- The expected results.
What criteria are considered to evaluate an alliance?
Proposals are analyzed based on criteria such as:
- Alignment with GS/OAS mandates.
- Potential impact at the regional or subregional level.
- Technical and operational feasibility.
- Sustainability and a shared value approach.
Does the alliance necessarily imply financial contributions?
Not necessarily. Partnerships may include financial, technical, in-kind or knowledge contributions, depending on the nature of the collaboration and the objectives of the project.
How are alliances formalized?
Once approved, the collaboration is formalized through a cooperation instrument (e.g., memorandum of understanding or specific agreement), which defines roles, responsibilities, deadlines, and follow-up mechanisms.
