
The AI in Education Hackathon seeks to create a regional space for collaboration, learning, and collective production around the use of Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) in education. It invites civil society organizations, educational institutions, and educators at all levels to work collaboratively on real educational challenges, promoting a critical, pedagogical, and responsible use of Artificial Intelligence while generating shared knowledge that can inform future practices and initiatives across the region.

Challenges may focus on the design, implementation, or evidence-based analysis of strategies, processes, or tools within educational institutions and programs in the following categories:

For solutions to be included in the repository and be eligible for participation in the raffle referenced in this call, participants must complete a closing participation process through an instrument (hereinafter the Participation Completion Instrument) provided by the Educational Portal of the Americas (EPA).
This Participation Completion Instrument must be completed only once per practice or solution, regardless of the number of individuals involved in its design, implementation, or analysis.
A dedicated Virtual Community (hereinafter, the Community) will be established within the Educational Portal of the Americas. The information will be maintained as a repository and may be updated for future editions.
This Hackathon will run from September 16 to October 23, 2026.

During the results dissemination seminar, the Educational Portal of the Americas will conduct a raffle for at least five educational licenses for AI software designed for education (hereinafter, the Software).
Once the results are released, the EPA may identify outstanding practices and invite them to participate in specialized workshops organized by the Educational Portal of the Americas.
The EPA will award participants a Recognition of Participation, which does not constitute an official certification issued by educational authorities.
To submit a solution to the Hackathon, applicants must complete all required information in the Registration Form, available on the Educational Portal of the Americas website.
