Google announced it is partnering with RapidSOS, a platform for emergency first responders, to enable users to contact 911 through RCS (Rich Messaging Service).

In 2023, Carbyne and NENA conducted a groundbreaking, comprehensive survey of emergency communications professionals across all levels of emergency services in North America. In 2024 they expanded the survey to explore some of last year’s discoveries and examine how the industry has shifted over the past 12 months. The 2024 survey focuses on key issues such as Staffing, Technology, Training, Mental Health, and Diversity within the Emergency Communications Center (EEC).
